Euryale ferox Salisb., is a large floating-leaf aquatic plant, the only species in the genera Euryale of the family Nymphaeaceae and it is distributed in India, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia and China. It has been used not only as an important cash crop but also as a valuable nourishing tonic in traditional medicine for centuries. The seed of E. ferox has been applied in the treatment of diarrhea, diabetic, kidneys problems such as: spermatorrhea, nocturia, urinary incontinence.
